| Transferring a Domain Name You Already Own If you're transferring a domain name you've already registered at another registrar, look for the link to "Transfer a Domain Name" (in our Domain Center). You'll be asked for the Authorization Key. This key must be obtained from your current registrar, and is required before submitting a transfer order. When contacting your current registrar to get this key, make sure they have unlocked your domain name to allow a transfer.
Your current registrar may send a verification email to the Administrative contact address you have on file with them. This is usually sent within a few hours/days of submitting your transfer order. Be sure to watch for this email and carefully follow the instructions. If you don't respond to the verification request the transfer will be cancelled. In this case you'll have to start the transfer process from the beginning. If you need help, just let us know. |
